This year's Cybersecurity Awareness Month theme is Secure Our World, which centers on the following four simple but critical behaviors to help everyone make informed cybersecurity choices:

1. Use Multi-Factor Authentication.
2. Maintain up-to-date software on your devices.
3. Exercise caution when interacting with email links and attachments – use the phish button in Outlook to report suspicious emails easily.
4. Create robust, complex, unique passwords.

Let’s take the lessons we've learned this month and apply them throughout our daily lives. Together, we can build a digital world that is more resilient and secure.

On Saturday, April 27, Alameda County residents were challenged to use available open data from - http://data.acgov.org - to showcase ideas and collaborate with others to quickly design and create software apps or come up with interesting concepts that address community needs in Alameda County.

The winners designed an app to help Alameda County residents find green businesses. The app also enables users to check-in at local green businesses and earn badges.
